Legend has it that when Naim Rouge (the Red Devil)
appears, calamitous events and tragedy follows.

Each year Detroit gathers to banish the demon for
the coming year! The first Le Marche du Nain Rouge
took place after Antoine Laumet de la Mothe
Cadillac, Detroit's founder, crossed paths with the
demon.

In a Mardi Gras like parade revelers burn Le Nain
Rouge in effigy to insure a prosperous year.
